4th of July Feast

As promised I want to share the feast that was our 4th of July. Like I mentioned, the weather turned nasty in the early afternoon so a majority of our day was spent indoors. We prepared quite the feast to celebrate our independence! Early in the day I started some Key Lime Pie ice cream in the electric maker. I also made a tomato and goat cheese tart topped with a lemon basil vinaigrette.Β 



My mom was in charge of making the fried chicken. We found a delicious recipe in Southern Living that called for brining the chicken in a sweet tea mixture over night. The result was a super moist fried chicken. And of course it wouldn’t be a barbecue without deviled eggs. The meal was so yummy, but I made sure to save room for Key Lime Pie ice cream. The recipe called to mix in some graham cracker crumbs after the ice cream was done churning. The finished product was very tart and refreshing. We will definitely be making this ice cream again!Β
